Making the Difference by Chasing Passions

Our Legacy

The LQS Group was established in 1935 as a construction company and landmark projects in Malaysia include both the iconic Merdeka Stadium for the country’s independence declaration as well as Stadium Negara, Malaysia’s first indoor stadium, the Klang Gates Dam, our country’s first dam, the irrigation scheme in Sungei Mudah, Kedah, and The Lady Templar’s Hospital. The Group diversified into property development in the 1960s and landmark projects include part of Kuala Lumpur’s bustling food street, Jalan Alor, and the pioneering stages of Kuala Lumpur’s first urban township development, Bandaraya Development in Bangsar.

Our Journey

The Group then expanded downstream into property development, embarking on Singapore’s first Urban Renewal Project, People’s Park Complex, and Singapore’s first up-market residential development, Somerville Park, sprawling over approximately 25 acres of prime land. Bringing its experience home, the Group then pioneered the development of high-end condominiums in Kuala Lumpur’s embassy enclave with the completion of 2-Twelve and Desa Palma Condominiums, and years later continued to put its stamp on the neighbourhood map with the completion of Residensi Ampang Tengah 6.

Our Future

As the Group prepares for its fifth generation of business in an increasingly crowded global marketplace, it is embracing organic change. The main themes of business, real estate and media, remain the same, but the focus has shifted to leveraging  passion to deliver only the most unique products to its customers. Supported by its vast experience and driven by a heightened interest in creating unique experiences, the Group now focuses on immaculately nurturing and delivering special products only – from unique properties to probing storylines and Hollywood-casted productions. The Group has taken itself off the mass radar and is poised to make its mark in a niche playing space, where less is more and making the difference is fuelled by chasing passions.
